Statement of Purpose

The mission of The Institute for Public Diplomacy and Global Communication (IPDGC) is to inform thinking about the challenges of communication between countries and at the planetary scale by states and non-state actors alike. By bringing together public diplomacy professionals, affiliated faculty and visiting scholars from overseas, IPDGC is building a rigorous venue for advancing understanding of what it means to speak to the world. Students in the MA program gain value from this, as well as the Institute’s various institutional linkages to central players at the crux of international media and politics.
