Center for Tax Law & Policy
The Center for Tax Law and Policy at Penn brings together the scholars at Penn Law who study the design and operation of tax and transfer systems. The Center’s substantive focus is on pressing issues of fiscal policy, with close attention paid to the implications for economic growth and efficiency, socioeconomic inequality, and the cost effective administration of programs and rules.The Center’s methodological approach is eclectic, drawing simultaneously from areas as diverse as legal studies, economics, finance, psychology, and philosophy. Capitalizing on Penn’s unique cross-disciplinary connectivity, the Center stands as one of the nation’s preeminent institutes for the study of tax and transfer policy.

Robert D. Burch Center for Tax Policy & Public Finance
The Robert D. Burch Center for Tax Policy and Public Finance is funded through an endowment from the late Robert Dale Burch, a Cal alumnus, and was established at the University of California, Berkeley, to promote research in tax policy and public finance, to disseminate this research to the academic and tax policy communities, and to stimulate informed discussion of tax policies of national significance. The Center, housed in the Department of Economics and the School of Law, works closely with these departments to offer students, faculty and the public cross-disciplinary seminars and conferences in tax policy and public finance.
