Program on Global Sustainability and Health

The Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation is the hub of Arizona State University’s sustainability research initiatives. The institute advances research and business practices for an urbanizing world. Its sister program, the College of Global Futures, both within the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, offers transdisciplinary degree programs focused on finding practical solutions to social, economic and environmental challenges.

The Global Health Justice Partnership collaborates with university centers, NGOs, government agencies, and other policy and advocacy groups in the US and abroad. We work together to carry out research, produce reports and commentary, and organize conferences and events on pressing health justice issues.

The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Sustainability Initiative (JEDSI) seeks to examine the relationship between social inequalities, lived experiences, and environmental outcomes. To this end, JEDSI currently focuses on eight primary areas of research, teaching, and practice: Environmental History; Nature, Outdoor Experiences, Attitudes, and Perceptions; Environmental Inequalities, Resilience, and Sustainability; Food and Farming: Access, Sovereignty, Food Justice; Institutional Diversity, Transparency, and Workforce Dynamics; Diversity Pathway Programming; New Horizons in Conservation Conference; Mentoring and Profiles of Environmental Professionals of Color.

The Global Health Law and Policy Project provides a unique multidisciplinary platform for developing, exploring, and evaluating global health initiatives.

The Duke Global Health Institute was formed in 2006 as part of Duke University’s commitment to spark innovation in global health research and education, the institute brings together knowledge and resources from across the university to address the most important global health issues of our time. They seek to achieve health equity for vulnerable groups and individuals around the world.

The Center for Law in Science and Global Health was established in 1994. It provides leadership, academic courses, academic advising, career counseling, practicums, externships and internships for all of UW Law's health law programs. Health law encompasses a broad range of topics, including government regulation of health law, health care business transactions, finance and reimbursement, telemedicine and ethics. Our robust curriculum includes over 30 courses in health law and seminars on current topics. We add new health law courses every year so students are well-equipped to obtain jobs and succeed in their careers. Students will have an opportunity to attend area conferences to meet and learn from the best health law lawyers in the northwest, many of whom are nationally recognized in their areas. Seattle has a very large healthcare and biomedical community. We also sponsor and participate in numerous conferences locally, nationally and internationally.
